Soft Tissue ‘Gum’ Grafting

Gum Grafting involves covering exposed tooth root surfaces and reverses gum recession. This is a common or typical treatment for individuals with extreme hot or cold sensitivity due to recession and root exposure. Gum grafting is also indicated where recession is progressive leading to increased loss of gum-tooth attachment over time. Some individuals have thin gum tissues that are prone to rapid recession and these patients benefit greatly from grafting. Connective tissue grafts can cover exposed roots and thicken gum tissues minimizing the risk of relapse recession.

Our resident Periodontist, Dr. Elly Tehrani, performs gum grafting procedures at Danube Dental Clinic. Feel free to ask us about this procedure!
